Peer Learning & Social Interaction with Small Group Learning
We recognise that home education and EOTAS (Education Other Than at School) can sometimes feel like a lonely and isolating journey. That’s why we’ve worked hard to create as many opportunities for peer learning and social interaction as possible. We believe that a sense of community and collaboration is key to a successful educational experience.
Our group sessions are designed to provide a balanced learning environment, with a 1:6 tutor-to-student ratio. This ensures that while students benefit from collaborative learning with their peers, they still receive the individualised attention they need. For our outdoor groups, the ratio is slightly higher, as we work in larger, more flexible spaces where students can engage in hands-on, interactive learning activities.
We find that our low student-to-tutor ratios foster an atmosphere where meaningful relationships can be formed—both among peers and between students and tutors. These interactions help build a sense of belonging, boost self-esteem, and encourage social growth, all while maintaining the focus and personalized attention that each child needs to thrive.
At AJT Training, we are proud to provide an environment where young people can learn, connect, and grow together, helping them build both academic skills and lasting friendships.
